WI vs IND: In preparation for their second T20I match against West Indies, the Indian cricket team was graciously hosted at the Indian High Commission in Guyana by Dr. KJ Srinivasa, the esteemed High Commissioner of India to Guyana.

On Sunday, India and West Indies will clash in the second T20I of their five-match series in Guyana, with West Indies currently leading 1-0. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter to share delightful pictures of the Indian players during their visit to the Indian High Commission in Guyana.

Reflecting on the series so far, India suffered a narrow defeat in the first T20I, falling short by four runs. Captain Rovman Powell (48 off 32 balls) and Nicholas Pooran (41 off 34 balls) played pivotal roles in steering the Windies to a competitive total of 149/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal (2/24) and Arshdeep Singh (2/31) shone as the standout bowlers for India.

During the chase of 150, India faced an early setback with the dismissals of openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill. However, Tilak Varma (39 off 22 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (21 off 21 balls) mounted a resilient 45-run partnership for the third wicket, bringing India back into contention. Despite the efforts of skipper Hardik Pandya (19) and Sanju Samson (12) in taking India beyond the 100-run mark, their dismissals tilted the game in favor of West Indies, who displayed excellent death bowling skills. Jason Holder (2/19) and Obed McCoy (2/28) were the standout bowlers for the Windies, with Holder earning the well-deserved ‘Player of the Match’ award.

It’s worth mentioning that India had previously triumphed in the ODI series, winning 2-1. Players like Ishan Kishan (184 runs in three matches with three fifties), Shubman Gill (126 runs in three matches with one fifty), Shardul Thakur (eight wickets), and Kuldeep Yadav (seven wickets) were the key contributors to India’s success.

Furthermore, India had also clinched the Test series 2-0, with standout performances from Yashasvi Jaiswal (266 runs in three innings with one century and one fifty), Rohit Sharma (240 runs in three innings with one century and two fifties), Virat Kohli (197 runs in two innings with one century and one fifty), Ravichandran Ashwin (15 wickets and one half-century), and Ravindra Jadeja (98 runs with one fifty in two innings and seven wickets).

Overall, India’s cricketing stars have shown their mettle across all formats, making the series against West Indies an exciting spectacle for cricket fans worldwide.
